# Scanning and Categorizing SDKs

## Introduction

OneTrust **Mobile App Consent** allows organizations to implement consent preference options for users on mobile devices regarding data that is collected through an application’s SDKs. When users access content or services through a mobile app, SDKs implemented for the app can be used to track user behavior, preferences, and more. Learn how to get started with Mobile App Consent by scanning and categorizing SDKs for your organization..

## Scanning and Categorizing SDKs

To begin scanning mobile applications, upload an `.aab`, `.apk` or `.ipa` file for the appropriate platform (Android or iOS). The Mobile Application Scanner uses enhanced detection capabilities to identify SDKs in your app, including those that may not have been detected previously.

Newly discovered SDKs are automatically classified using an intelligent classification system, though you can manually reclassify them at any time. Existing SDK classifications remain unchanged and will not be overwritten.

After detection and classification, you must manually assign each SDK to an application. These assignments can be modified at any time.
