Scanning and Categorizing SDKs
Introduction
OneTrust Mobile App Compliance allows organization to implement consent preference options for users on mobile devices regarding data that is collected through an application’s SDKs. When users access content or services through a mobile app, SDKs implemented for the app can be used to track user behavior, preferences, and more. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to get started with Mobile App Consent by scanning and categorizing SDKs for your organization..
Scanning and Categorizing SDKs
Scanning mobile applications begins with uploading an .apk
or .ipa
specific to the platform you want to support, such as Android or iOS. Next you’ll need to designate what type of category best describes the SDK and its intended purpose, which may include strictly necessary, analytical, functional, advertising, or social media. You can also identify the vendor that the SDK originated from.
Once the SDK is identified and categorized, you’ll then need to manually assign it to an application. These assignments can be altered as needed once the SDK is created.
