View and Categorize Scan Results
You can view the results of your scan as soon as the scan is complete. The Scanner will attempt to categorize the SDKs and Permission for the Application.
To View Scan Results
- Navigate to the Cookie Compliance > Mobile Apps menu. The Mobile Apps screen appears.
- Use the search bar to locate a mobile app.
- Click the mobile app. The Mobile App Details screen appears.
- Navigate to the Scan Results tab.

V.VV.V - DD/MM/YYYY MM:SS AM/PM
.
Overview Tab
The Overview tab shows a quick overview of the SDKs and Permission found in your application. You can use the Show menu to select the scan to view. The Scan Now can be used to initiate another Application scan. The Export button will export the selected scan results as an Excel file.
SDKs Tab
The SDKs are graphed by type and a detailed list of the SDKs is given below. The SDKs are categorized based on methodology developed for Cookiepedia that places them into one of the following categories:
Category | Description |
---|---|
Unknown | The Unknown type means the SDK purpose is not specified or cannot be determined. |
Strictly Necessary | Strictly Necessary means the SDKs are essential for the provision of the application and any requested services, but do not perform any additional or secondary function. |
Social Media | Social Media SDKs integrate social features of the platform to enhance app data, analytics, and personalized experiences for application users. |
Performance | Performance SDKs are those that provide statistical information on application usage, for instance application analytics. |
Functional | Shown by default, Functionality SDKs allow the provision of enhanced functionality and personalization, such as videos and live chat. They may be set by you or by third-party providers whose services you have added to your application. If you do not allow these SDks, then some or all of these functions may not work properly. |
Targeting/Advertising | Shown by default, Targeting SDKs are used to create profiles or personalize content. Third parties often collect this data. These SDks present the highest privacy risks to users. |
Permissions Tab
The Permissions are graphed by type and a detailed list of the Pemissions is given below.
Permissions tell your application what it is allowed to do and what it is allowed access to. These permissions can range from access to a device GPS to being notified when the device has finished booting. If used and managed correctly, permissions can help protect the privacy of a user.
Some application permissions cannot be granted by themselves and need to be confirmed by a user. For these permissions, it is possible for information that contains a privacy risk to be collected and shared with other parties.
Once an application is granted a permission, any SDK included in the application will be granted access to the data that permission provides. It's important you are aware of these permissions so that you can properly notify the user.
To Categorize SDKs
You will need to categorize SDKs in the same way as cookies are categorized. The categories will be enabled based on the user preferences.

On the Cookie Compliance menu, select Categoration. The Categorization screen appears.
-
Select the SDKs for which you would like to assign a category.
-
